Check engine light turned out to be related to the dealership possibly fueling the vehicle with it running when it came off the transport.

The manager provided me with a new set of AMG key covers, so now I actually have an extra.

All is well again.

Quick update. A little over a week ago I left the vehicle with the dealer for an extended period and they got to the bottom of the problem. It was a defective charcoal filter.
