W163 270CDI Virbrations at high rpm
So it's all about a 2003 Mercedes ML 270CDI. When driving at more than 300-3500 rpm there are incredibly strong vibrations which are so mighty that the door trim interior panels start shaking.
When driving at lower rpm nothing happens - no vibrations whatsoever. However, once I drive off at 3000 rpm or more powerful vibrations make the ride less than enjoyable.
Any suggestions? Thanks
EDIT:
I have some new info as some new tests were done.
Car is standing still, with hand and footbrake engaged, I give full throttle and when the rpm goes up the vibrations start. When the gas pedal is released the vibrations calm themselves as the rpm drops.
Then I did another test: Car is standing still, with hand and footbrake engaged and low range mode on. At about 2500 rpm the whole car was shaking so bad that the glovebox opened itself. When I released the gas pedal there were some residual vibrations while running idle. In order to make them go away I had to shift in neutral. While changing from D to N there was some sort of kick.
Could it be something with the automatic transmission? Torque converter?

Sorry, forgot to mention - all engine mounts were changed. There was also a problem with the exhaust tubing because the tubes were under tension. Problem was solved but the vibrations remained...
