2008 ML63 engine ticking
Hi,
I purchased an ML63 2008 with 90000 miles on it and a week later im noticing an engine ticking noise with rattling on the side of the motor, more louder on the passenger side of the motor. I hope its not lifters.. Any suggestion ? the previous owner was using 0-40 Mobile 1 oil. Is it the correct oil grade for this car or should i go with 5-30

I have read that CERATEC has helped a few 63 owners with this, look into it although I may get backlash for suggesting oil additives.
I run it in my e55 and noticed a smoother response from the engine, then ran 2 bottles of black techron, then 2 weeks later 2 bottles of seafoam, and noticed a lot smoother response. Did a "sneaky ecu reset" (google it) again, and it improved drastically. I think over time these cars get gunked up. Mine is 2005 with 95k.
And use 5w40, motul or liqui moly, 229.5 if you can help it, a bit more expensive but well worth it imho.
