I'm starting to look into purchasing an ML but am not too thrilled with the Mercedes Benz NAVI unit. If I do not get the NAVI, is the stock headunit location a DOUBLE-DIN size? I tried researching on Crutchfield but it says not available since they have not measured the ML, which sounds weird given the vehicle's popularity.

Anyone know if a DOUBLE-DIN unit can fit in the ML?

You don't mention how deep the unit is, different units are different depths. The opening is double-din but you will need a very shallow unit unless you are willing to cut out some of the back of the radio cage.

Right, I understand that. I just wasn't sure if the opening (width) was a standard double-din or one of those brand specific sizes.

Why not try the Eclipse unit AVX2494

I put that on my Cayenne, and Im pretty sure it'll work on the ML.
