I had factory 20s, didn't notice any difference.

Thanks! Any feedback on the MBH off-road downpipes?

1) Any noticeable smell from not having cats?
2) How is the sound?
3) How as install - 1 hour at a shop? I believe just one gasket needs to be replaced (if you wanted to) and the rest is bolt-on.
4) how's the tune?

Some of us are following your progress. I had Eurocharge do my tune 2 years ago and am happy with it and their pricing. Curious about the downpipes and the result. A baseline dyno would be good, but I didn't do one either.
However, I like the changes you're making and it revitalized my interest in doing some mods. Ordered AMG side skirts Friday because I really haven't liked the running board look since I bought it.

I was thinking about this as well but was told the running boards help stop the stones from flying up and hitting the doors/rear panels? Not sure how true that is.

Installed all new badges around the vehicle in matte black and red. I know the S-AMG thing was technically not an ML63 thing, but it was out in 2014 on other models and mine does have the P30 performance pack.

Also installed a red carbon start stop button.

Added a red carbon steering wheel emblem insert to match the red carbon start stop button. Also added a red anodized volume knob.

Upgraded my factory HK subwoofer today. The new sub isn't much louder but it does get a little lower, faster response, and the rattle/vibration I had prior with certain bass frequencies is gone. Well worth the $55 for the sub, $5 for wire/crimp connects, and $3 for poly fill.

The new sub is an MB Quart MS1-204 dual 4 ohm. The factory sub ohmed out at exactly 4 ohms per coil, this new sub ohms out at 3.4 ohms per coil. This means this sub will draw slightly more power out of the factory amp as well as cause slightly more heat possibly.

Removal of factory sub.

Comparison of factory sub and MB Quart.

Made some little jumpers to go from the factory wiring to the new sub. This makes it easier to install because it makes the wires longer, but mostly I did it so that i didn't hack the factory wiring and can return to stock.

Here is the jumpers taped up and the factory enclosure filled with poly-fill.

You will have to use a pair of dykes or a file to knock off this tab above my finger, it's the alignment pin for the factory subwoofer.

You're providing excellent data for potential mods, such as the pictures and speaker specs. I've had a rattle with mine at times, so I already ordered the sub.
What's the purpose of the poly-fill? Better base response (I'm not an audiophile)?

It slows the sound waves, essentially making the woofer think it's in a larger box than it is.

Thanks, anxious to try it.
Replacing the running boards was the ticket. Much cleaner. I need to post a picture.

What's crazy is the AMG side skirts are standard and included on the ML63 at no charge. Yet almost every dealer payed extra to throw some hideous running boards in their place. Same story on GL63 and GLE63.
