ML63 - Smallest wheels that fit over brakes?
A friend has a 2014 ML63 and keeps blowing tires because of the horrible roads around where he lives.
He loves the vehicles performance so doesn't want to necessarily give it up...but he's been through 12 (yes, twelve) tires over his ownership period of about 3 years I think.
I was suggesting to him he go with a smaller wheel and bigger sidewall. Are any of you running smaller than factory rim size with larger sidewall?

If the brakes are the same size as the older W164 ML63, he can run 19" wheels. The first batch of the ML63 in EU & Asia had these wheels as standard. The tire size will be 295/45R19.

Im fairly certain the smallest you can run is a 20"...brake caliper clearance is the issue.
For my winters, I did not go with a smaller wheel diameter, but i did step up to a larger sidewall (GL specs). Chicago is notorious for potholes, so this helped a bit.
