Tire Rotation Question
We can rotate the wheels fronts to rear and vise versa correct? I guess I just want to make sure that all 4 wheels are the same and are rotatable. ( this is a really dumb question I know but I am asking because all I know is the spare tire will not fit the front tires, I learned this the hard way).

Just about any rotation pattern works now. But I use the pattern for all wheel drive cars, not cars that are primary front wheel drive but the rear kicks in for traction (Honda Pilot, most DUVs) When I rotate, I take the rears and cross them to the front and then bring the fronts straight back to the rear. You can google most tire manufactures and they have recommendations on rotation pattern.
I got approx 40,000 miles on the OEM that came on my 2015 ML.
Also, you mention issue with cross rotating. Back in the old days when of radial tires first came out, Michelin did not recommend cross rotating due to the issue of messing up the steel bands in the tires. That is no longer the case and I am not aware of any manufacturer advising not to cross rotate.
But, as I mentioned on the first line, I don't think there is any incorrect pattern.
