Lost only key....but...
So since the midwest snow storm last week, my ML has been parked in the garage because I dropped my only key in a good feet of snow in my front yard while shoveling and without realizing it until a day later. Searched everywhere but no luck. Called the local dealer, which ended something like this....car have to be towed to dealership ($150), pay $380 for a new key + $540 for a new computer + service charge + tax = $1,000+
I could sense the parts guy was laughing in the background with an evil grin that more money was coming his way.
Told wife the story....Wife was about to kick me out of the house. On Sunday, weather got warmer and snow melted a little so wife went out with a rake and raked my entire front yard. Neighbor probably thought she was crazy. An hour later, wife came back in and threw key at me.
Lesson learned....have an extra key or be prepared for the wife!
Now...waiting for dealership to program me an extra key!
