Power steering pump

my power steering pump has done about 55000 Kms and has a minor leak.
options are to add "power steering fluid with stop leak" , remove the pump and rebuild it or replace the pump assembly.
my concern is using the "power steering fluid with stop leak" may soften the remaining seals in the steering system and shorten their life.
Has anyone had a similar experience and can offer best advice.

Went to my local dealer who advised it was a hydraulic pump for the antisway bar. Im advised the pumps are prone to leakage. replacement refurbished pumps are available, although research found new pumps from America are available at a reasonable cost.
would e interested if anyone has had similar and may have some advice.

Too many to list
Mine leaked at around 35k miles and it was replaced under warranty. I just hope itll last another 35k or more miles again. Dont knowing dealer used a new or remanufactured part though.

Any new solution to this problem? Maybe a rebuild kit that has new o-rings?

Hi MBenthusiast in the short term i just topped up the oil with the correct fluid and ordered a replacement pump, that was some years ago and have had the pump sitting on the shelf, I'm up to 90000Kms and the leak has almost stopped, ie no noticeable leakage or oil use.

Okay, thank you. I really appreciate it. Mine is leaking slowly and was just curious and didn’t find much. Some owners/shops/even in part stores think it’s a power steering pump so it very hard to find out what the pump actually is and what’s it for. This helps me a lot. Thank you.

No Problem, the hydraulic pump is for the stabliser bar (keeps the car from leaning over on corners- and does a god job of that) the oil is not transmission oil, there is the correct hydraulic oil for the pump. if you have trouble identifying the hydraulic oil let me know ill send a picture of the bottle when i get home in a few days

I went to my local dealer and they gave me the hydraulic fluid but I am curious about the level. There’s a 20C mark and a 60C I think. Do you know how to accurately check the level? Does the car have to be warm/cold/on/off…? I’ve just been filling to the 20C mark.
