Looking to purchase a 2012-2015 ML63. Are there any changes or updates in this range that I should be aware of? Also interested in opinions on "must have" options. These come pretty loaded, but there are some add-ons available.
Mainly considering whether or not I want the extra performance package. I see the differences are:
+hp/tq - never a bad thing, but could be tuned aftermarket if desired
Red brake calipers - I find this a bit played out and cheesy due to proliferation of painting the brakes red or any flashy color on every boy racer car. I prefer the standard gray/silver. The actual spec of the brakes does not appear to be any different according to brochure.
Alcantara steering wheel - Don't like it! Alcantara should never be used on high touch surfaces, it sucks in oils from the skin and can't be cleaned, ends up looking horrible. All leather replacement wheel would be cheap on Ebay though.
CF engine cover - cool, but nobody will ever see it but me, possibly ebay purchase as well.
Top speed limiter raised - let's get real, I'll never see the base limit, and I could probably remove it with my Launch X431 computer.
I'm seeing examples in the 60-80k mileage range for around $32-34K, not bad, but the years range so I would only be concerned with year in the 12-15 range if there is some significant update that I don't know about now. Otherwise lower mileage / better history wins.

ML63PP is more desirable than ML63, but price reflects this. I have '15 63PP but would be just as happy with 63 without it.
Since 63 is basically loaded (DAP is probably the most notable option, but I haven't seen one without it), but the only other option I would not get the car without is multicontoured front seats.
