Just recently purchased a 2015 ML63 and been looking around on the internet for exhaust videos and also there is a thread on page 3 regarding some of this. Anyways I'm looking to see what people did most to their exhaust systems.. resonator delete with straight pipe to the mufflers to replace it? Cat less downpipes? If anyone has done some modifications to the exhaust let me know and if you have any sound clips that would be even better haha. I want to do something with the exhaust to really open the beast up.
Best Regards,
Matthew

I know back when I had my W211 E55 I did the secondary cat removal and also cut out the resonator which really helped. The shop also replaced the resonator with duel pipes and added an H-pipe for the back pressure since the E55 was supercharged. I liked the sounds as it was decently calm when idling, a little throaty when calm driving but when you stomped on the gas, Ooooooo that thing would open up and sound so mean. If & when I get my ML63, Ill be doing a resonator delete for sure! Not sure about the secondary cat removals but I will be cutting out the resonator and installing an X-pipe in its place. YouTube has some nice sound clips of that.

Remove resonators and if not loud enough remove the rear mufflers.

Supersprint has a bunch of options for your ride. If you’ve deleted the resonators, you could probably skip over the expensive front end stuff and just do the axle back muffler which is a bit more affordable haha. Plus keep in mind these prices include VAT so if I’m not mistaken, that wouldn’t apply to a system shipped to the US. Roberto from Supersprint got me pricing for my system that was a good bit less than the website price so definitely worth checking with him if something catches your eye (send them a PM here on mbworld). Not the cheapest option but their stuff is top shelf. Originally Posted by C43 Fun Haver
