2015 ML63 M157 P0299 CEL Problem! please help!

Hey everyone, got a 2015 ML63 and I’ve been getting this CEL P0299 and I’ve changed the boost solenoid, and the check valve on the vacuum pump. I’m out of options, anyone else experience this? I’ve also changed the vacuum line elbow coming out of the check valve that was rooted and all lines are holding pressure hood. Please help. Thanks guys.

One thing to mention is that I’m not sure if the 2015 model has a exhaust valve but mine has a Brabus exhaust which uses the vacuum line to control the valve to control the quiet/sport mode exhaust valve.

Hey everyone. So I’ve checked the wastegate actuator rod on the driver side has a lot more vertical movement then the passenger side wastegate actuator rod leading me to believe that the c clip is missing. One thing I did notice was that the heat shield has rivets, not bolts, and I’m not sure if bending will give me more clearance but just wanted to share that. I tried to see if I was able to actually see the end of the rod but the shield blocks it. Where can I get the clips anyways? Thanks everyone so much.

One avenue is to buy WIS/EPC from ebay for approx $20 and use it to dig through the parts catalog to find the clip, or the assembly it belongs to if not sold individually.

I’m also curious to know if the actuators are actually a known wear part for this engine? Has anyone else had an actuator go out?

So the actuator c clip is there. So I’m back to square one. No vacuum leaks and actuators hood vacuum. Ughh!

I’m thinking of maybe just taking it to the dealer for a diagnostic. I can’t seem to find anything and no one on the forums seem to want to help. This sucks.

What other symptoms do you have? Underboost can also be thought of as insufficient compression. How is your coolant and oil consumption?

Try disconnecting vacuum connections to your aftermarket Brabus exhaust.

What is the history of this vehicle? How many miles are on it and how long have you owned it? What is the service history?

Wait….sorry but coolant? 😳 could that code mean coolant in finding its way into places it shouldn’t be?

I plugged the Brabus exhaust vacuum line so tomorrow let’s see. Oil consumption is perfect. 0. Also…which side is turbocharger 1….I’m hearing it’s passenger side turbo?

I just got the car, 2015 ml63 48k miles, 5mths ago and it ran perfectly. After a few months I Changed oil, cabin air filter, and engine air filter (OEM replacement) and a few days after the light comes on. I know I know, you may think I don’t know what I’m doing and maybe I messed something up while changing the air filter but my previous car was a ‘08 ml63 and I built the whole engine using Weistec parts…I know my way around a car very very well. This problem just seems to really puzzle me. Cause she drives good…400hp~ ….just not the full 600hp when I first got her. I’m reading another thread about maybe the MAF sensor being sensitive…so I might get some MAF cleaner and try that too… I’m trying anything at this point.

I know this sounds crazy but do you think worn spark plugs can cause low boost conditions?

Strictly speaking, no. A non-broken spark plug seals the combustion chamber. A broken spark plug is a different story and you would like have misfires.

Have you read codes on this? What is your previous car DIY experience? What other mods are on this car besides the Brabus exhaust?

just the P0299. No other codes. No mods after I received it just air filter change. KN High air flow. It came with the Brabus exhaust that uses vacuum to open and close exhaust valves. I was thinking of getting the Weistec Anti Surge system but problem shooting this code is has been very evasive. One thing I have to check is the actuators using pressure instead of vacuum. I was testing using vacuum not pressure.
