If anyone is interested I took my sub out of my truck 2 years ago and I think I've come to terms with the fact that I'll never be using it again.

It is in a custom made JL spec black sueded enclosed box for optimum punctuality.

Everything is in perfect operating condition.

God do I miss it - this thing sounded so good...Unfortunately I no longer want to hassle around with installing and un-installing

But nothing hits better than a Dub7

 

Ok, so it was definitely in the back cab. I'm trying to see if the box would fit in my "truck". I'll definitely want to see some pics when you get a chance.

 

A brand new JL Audio 1000/1 can be had on Ebay for about $600-$700. That is where I got my 1000/1 and 450/4 (black editions). The JL Audio 12W7 runs you about $400-$500 new on ebay. I think retail on the 1000/1 was around $1000 and the 12W7 was $800. Windy...you might have gotten raked over the coals on labor if your bill came out to $2600...IMHO.

 

Saw that, which is why I priced my stuff where I did...

Keep in mind that I bought this stuff when it was new on the market so there was no such discounting at the time..Didn't get raked over the coals, I payed 2400 for the sub and amp which was retail, and 200 for install, including all wiring..

Nonetheless, I figured that I would price these things at half of what new replacement costs are today, ie my asking price of 7-800.

 

That is a fair price for amp, sub, and enclosure. Good luck with the sale.

Nice compact setup. I'm in the same boat. I have some nice equipment I purchased about 8 years ago. I still use it in the house once in a while, hooked it up to my computer using a AC/DC converter.

Would really like to add some bass to the car but don't want to sacrifice the trunk space and the box is too heavy (custom isobaric bandpass with two 10" JL made out of Lexon) to pull out as needed. Makes the mounting and wiring more complex too. Just can't make up my mind as what to do with it...
