Sirius SDARS receiver for 2006 S55 AMG
Apparently Mercedes no longer has access to the Sirius Satellite SDARS receiver part that makes the satellite radio work for my 2006 S55 AMG. This is really frustrating...I mean why discontinue a part on a 3 year old vehicle?!?! ![EEK!](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Anyways...just hoping someone can help me find the part. I was told by Mercedes parts rep that the part number is SDARS Receiver B-67-83-0060.

I had to go through this headache as well. The receiver is the same it is one stupid most cable that you have to buy the $200 installation kit to get. They have the part # for this cable but will not sell it individually. My dealer still has one of these kits for a W220 if you need it. I had no luck finding the cable and gave and bought the install kit.

Thanks for the reply abhatti55. I don't mind paying for the kit if I can actually find the SDARS receiver. My dealer here in Utah says he can't even get them anymore. If you happen to know of any dealers (or non-dealers) that have access to this SDARS receiver (part # B-67-83-0060), please let me know. I would really like to find one to get my Sirius satellite working!
Thanks again.
Thanks again.

It is my understanding that all the Sirius receivers installed in cars from 2004-06 were the same, it does not necessarily have to have the specific part number for car. Keep an eye out on Ebay and here they come up from time to time.

I have a receiver available. It has the Mercedes part # on it not the Q number. PM me if you would like to get more info.

I have in on my CL600 and bought a SDAR box & antenna off ebay for my S600, but there was no mounting bracket. Is the bracket necessary and/or part of the instal kit? What do you mean STAR code the Audio Gateway? Is that something the dealer does to allow the vehicle to recognize it now has Sirius?
Thx
Thx
that will tell the car the SDAR is installed
Where are you located?

Version coding means that one has to enable the new hardware within the MOST ring. Otherwise the car doesn't know that the new device is there and can cause errors to be stored in the control unit's error memory.

Not that simple on the W220, good luck finding the fiber optic jumper cable to connect it to the ring. It's only prewired for the power.

There is a install kit that was sold by the dealer that included various nuts and bolts and the bracket to install it with there was also a fiber optic cable included that acts as a jumper cable to complete the fiber optic ring loop. There is an individual part number for the cable but it no longer available from the dealer or Germany. Only way to get it is buying that install kit which is around $200. Maybe somebody else is more knowledgeable about the fiber optic cables and has a solution. At the time I was fed up and forked over the extra money to buy the install kit and get my satellite radio going.

I have a 2004 S600 which was also pre-wired for Sirius however I am having some difficulty with the antenna that I am hoping you could help me with. When I started installing the unit I found the prewired power and fiber connector and I was able to route the fiber optic so my head unit sees the Sirius module but it just keeps saying "Acquiring Signal". I have a small "portable" type Sirius antenna hooked up with a FAKRA adapter. However when I was digging around by all of the other components in my trunk I found two loose FAKRA type plugs zip tied together, one blue (which is keyed to fit into my Sirius module antenna port) and one white which is not. I tried to just hook up the unused blue connector but got the same "Acquiring Signal" message. Does anybody have any info as to the blue and white unused FAKRA plugs? Do I have to hook them up in some way elsewhere? Any help would be very appreciated. Also any further word on finding the single fiber optic "jumper" wire. The way I got mine to see the Sirius module was to unplug both fiber leads from my CD Changer which plugged directly into my Sirius fiber plug. So no CD Changer while I have the Sirius installed but then again I probably wouldn't use the Changer with Sirius working. Thanks, Brian
