Welcome New Members
A few years back I bought a used 2003 w211 E320CDi Avantgarde, as with all things Mercedes it was a great looking car, and the Panormaic roof was pure joy. Unfortunately the problems just kept mounting, so eventually I bit the bullet and sold it for next to nothing. Before the problems started to appear and the bills rose ever higher, the performance was very addictive for a diesel car. With torque to match some performance cars, but too many electrical problems and eventually the gearbox went. Before that I suffered the notorious limp mode when returning home. I'm no mechanic, never have been and probably never will be. Obviously I'm no Mercedes expert and won't challenge anyone's advice as that's what I'm here for.
The E320CDi problems seem very long and in truth it put me off ever returning to a possible w211 of any description. The fact that the UK is coming down hard on all Diesel cars, opens up a return to Petrol again. Fuel costs aside I've seen an E500 Elegance which is completely opposite to what the E320CDi provides regarding economy. The model is another 2003 w211 with a supposed 91,000 miles on the clock, priced at £5,000. There is a cheaper one at £2,250 with 145,000 miles but it's with a private seller which always puts me off. Regardless of whether any remain on the market long enough for me to scrounge the cash, I'd just like to know what other problems occur regularly for E500 besides the Airmatic suspension issues.
Please go easy, newbie here.
I happily purchased my first M-B about a month ago. It's a low-mile 2008 E63 AMG Wagon (Black/Black). My wife drives it mostly, but I take every opportunity I can to get behind the wheel... I'll run to the store for as little as new shoestrings. We both love it. It has not had the head bolts done, and that is a scary monkey on my back right now. Fortunately, it's clear I've found THE Merc resource and community here at MBWorld. I also drive a Toyota Landcruiser, and like ih8mud.com has been invaluable to me over the years, it's clear that this site will be equally (if not more) resourceful in plowing through my euro ignorance! Pleased to be here and thanks in advance for all your assistance! -Tom in NC

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
New member here joining the forum. Bought my first Mercedes and import for that matter.Used to American muscle but wanted something different. I have a 2004 CLK55 AMG, All stock for now.132,000 original miles.
I just purchased my first Benz a 2005 C240 AMG. I absolutely love this car and I have a question. Whenever I look for parts or accessories I am asked if it is a Base or a 4-Matic, so how do I know what type it is? I thought the AMG was completely different.

My name is Mark I live west of Boston Ma USA. I have a silver 2012 C350 4 matic coupe. It is completely stock at this time. But I would like to modify the exhaust. And am looking for some advice on what to do, thinking about X pipe and quad tips.
I've reached some personal success in my career at the age of 27 that has allowed me to be in the position to enjoy my first Mercedes Benz.
Absolutely loving the new ride and glad to be part of this group of people sharing the same MB passion!
P.S. - still working on a name for her... open to suggestions!

The stable currently consists of: 1972 280SEL 4.5, 1979 450SLC, 1984 500SEC & 1987 560SL. All low mileage cars and all gorgeous. Once I can add a 6.9 to my stable, I'll consider myself fairly well satiated.
I've browsed through this forum a multitude of times and feel it's time to join instead of freeload. Thanks for having me.
My 1979 450SLC. The sexiest car I've ever laid my eyes on. It sat for 18 years with 28,000 miles .

1987 560SEL 52" Stretch limousine. The one that I let go. Formerly owned by the prince of all men, Hugh Hefner. May he RIP. If I own a limo I want to ride in the back. Not drive it. So it was let loose.

Hi, my name is Keith, I've just brought a 2006 c class c180k-evolution-s. W203, which although was only a 1 owner (a doctor) needs a little bit of TLC, i.e cleaning and the wheels defo need some work. Apart from that almost everything works, but problem with the rear lights, and the seat belt presenters not working (neither is the interior light when opening the door, but works with the switch). Leather is in top condition, not faded or ripped. I am from the UK living in the south a place called Havant near Portsmouth.
