Hi, my name is Chanh, from Viet Nam. I am now working for Mercedes dealer. I learned lot of good stuffs from WBworld and I am glad to be a member. Nice day.
Benz Driver from here in Salt Lake City, Utah. I’m a long time reader and newbie here to the forum as a member. Love what I see so I figured I would finally make a login. Currently rocking the 2004 CLK 320 but looking to upgrade to the CLS 55 AMG within the next six months or so. Hunting for the perfect one!
I’m probably done with this car for now, looking to sink all I have into the 55 when I get it. This one is Currently at 135k miles but running like a champ!! I’ll post more as I see fit
Giday, I m sure i will own a mb one day, but till then i get to work on and drive one that belongs to my friend, changed the injector seals, v6 diesel, an A frame in the front suspension and looking like the power steering pump has packed a sad.. tho im sure he hasint been dritfing his 3500kg sprinter,,
heavy steering..
i also overhauled an 86 2.8liter salon, W108, over all i quite like the way the mb goes together. quite liked the way it handled on the metal roads we have..
so yeah algud..
Go for it! Get an MB! I liked driving a Sprinter years ago - I much prefer a higher driving position - ideally, head height with a horse rider! I now have an ML320 W163 2000, and it is the most fun car I have had in over 25 years. It only cost Ł1000 seven years ago. It is very versatile, and is good on road (at least in a straight line or uphill) and quite good off road, (except for deep muddy ruts and steep wet grass) and has a 2 cubic metre/600kg load space in the back and is good at towing. If it dies I'll either get an ML500 W163 or an old W140 S class, just to burn even more money in maintenance costs.....

Hi @mrversace and welcome to MBWorld! Thanks for sharing the your stories and the pics. You have transformed wrecks into great looking M-Bs. Congratulations
Hi Guys, I'm Andre from the great white north, I'm glad to a member of MBWorld. I have been checking your site from a long time for useful tips and help, I've been a member with BenzWorld for about 10 years. Enjoy them both
I have owned and drove 1994 w140 S420 with just over 380,000 km on it, just for a winter beater. Surprisingly a really good car sold it with 520,000 km couldn't keep up with the rust. Second 2001 w220 S500 not very happy with it, My opinion not built as well the w140 rust and electrical gremlins not as steady on the Hwy, Third and current 2010 w221 S550 4Matic very nice car, still seams to have some electrical gremlins. Boy, comfort is getting expensive. Before the Benz I had a assortment of AMC's, couple Dodges and a few GM's.
That's it for now.
Hello gang.
I am graduating University this year and as a businessman I am looking to upgrade my vehicle from Mustang~Mercedes
I am looking for an affordable/reliable M at least 2012 model. My research has led me to believe that a C-Class best suits what I am looking for
I am here because I am always a forum member for whatever activities I partake upon and I am hoping to get some wisdom on what to look out for when it comes to buying one of these beautiful machines and I hope you can provide me with a checklist of sorts offering what to look out for.
Nice to be here everyone!
Call me J
New member checking in from Oregon. TBH, never paid much attention to the MB’s until I worked around them for a short time and got hooked. It’s been a pleasant change from the norm for me.

Hi everyone - new member here in Fairfax VA! Had a w211 e55 amg many years ago. Looking to get into an e63s in the near future. Looking forward to using this forum as a resource for advice and other support. Thanks in advance for all of the help and looking forward to contributing where I can!
What a great forum, I have been a long time MB owner (E350's with amg kit, GLC 43) but am now eyeing a friends 07 SL 65.
Original owner, new tires, price is fair, but I am scared to death of surprise maintenance costs of 5k-10k yearly.
37k miles on it, brakes have NOT been done.
Thoughts on how to best protect myself?
Just picked up a 2019 C63 coupe! I've had a few bimmers and I'm coming from a 435i with ~480whp. Already loving the linear nature and low end torque of this V8. Have some weistec VTA adapters waiting to be installed, some carbon fiber exterior bits on the way, and just pulled the trigger on the VRP downpipes. Looking at an OE Tuning flash, but I might run it around for a few months under warranty before I lose my patience 😅 Thinking about KW HAS, but I've heard some issues with longevity of the factory dynamic dampers with those, and Houston roads can be unforgiving...
Current search is for the max offset for a 20x10.5 and 20x9 staggered setup. Can't wait to get rid of these AMG twin 5 spokes!
Any advice is appreciated, and I look forward to the next couple years. Thanks.
New member, living in Pennsylvania.
Long time MB owner, most recently a GLC 43.
About to buy a 2007 SL 65 from the original owner (and a friend). 38k miles on it.
Any ideas on how to protect myself from incurring any surprise/costly repairs? Doing a pre inspection, but wanted to see if their were any warranty companies I should call for coverage or any specific items known to be problematic on these cars?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Shout out to this amazing community, I became more and more confident after reading countless threads on this forum and getting helpful word of mouth type of valuable recommendations. I was able to resolve minor issues that persisted, then I was able to to diagnose the issues myself and a couple years later I found myself an mb star scanner it did take me a while to get a grasp on how to use it, but I like a challenge, felt very lucky to get a lot of help along the way, reading tutorials really paid off and saved me an arm and a leg, some fault codes that I deleted didn't come back for over a year until the actual need to replace a module became necessary and REAL. Also, I avoided a couple dodgy sellers after asking them if I can run a quick scan before purchase of cars, one good way to avoid getting screwed over. Thanks again!
Cheers and Happy New Year!
@skippack07sl65
These cars are solid with no known issues the air suspension if it has it can cause issues.
Mercedes have resolved all the electrical Gremlin’s of the previous SL
Make sure it’s got service history and check the mileage is correct because it’s shocking how easy it is to edit the clocks on these older beasts
If budget allows you are better off buying a good quality C3 system which will save you 1000's in the long run
Because this Mercedes has so many systems and sensors that get triggered from time to time with no actual fault, it gets expensive to take it to the garage just to turn dash lights out even worse they replace things and charge you silly money just because they can. It’s better to know what the problem is exactly before you take it to the shop and this will let you know who is honest and who to avoid.
Don’t let anyone sell you a poor quality system or the much more expensive c4
I got mine from a guy in England I highly recommend him
He is very good at after sales https://www.obdstore.co.uk/product/m...ostics-system/
So if the miles are correct then go for it they are only going to go up in price
I emphasize that MB never made an SL that didn’t become a classic and started going up in value

Hello, new member here.
Would be the first time owner of a MB car. Just purchased a GLB 200 and now waiting it to be delivered.
Have been getting so much useful information from this forum.
Hello everyone, my name is Brian. I just picked up a 2013 E550. This is my first Mercedes, so I plan to use a lot of the resources in this forum. I’ve come from a large background of aftermarket performance and currently teacher automotive for Keller isd in Texas. I’ve worked on many 1000+ horsepower hellcats, corvettes, Lamborghini‘s, etc. my plans are to extract what I can from this M278!
