Welcome New Members
This is my first Mercedes...and have to admit this ride is sweet. Have owned her for a year now and to date, no issues. Getting ready to replace the Chrome 18" AMG 5spoke wheels with aftermarkets due to the previous owner affinity for curbs and just general pitting forming in the chrome, but plan on keeping her profile as near original as possible.
My 1990 300E 124
I live in Far North Queensland near the coast and will be 75 years old in the beginning of January 2015. My MB is the best car I've ever owned. Minor electrical problems have been causing anxious moments, but fortunately with the help of MBWORLD forum search I was able to fix all of them myself.
Hi All! It's Bill from Harrisburg PA. Just came home with a new to me '02 ML500 with only 61,000 miles on the clock. I got this for my wife as an early Christmas present. She REALLY likes it! Quite pleased with it so far. It runs strong and very smoothly. I usually do my own maintenance and am eager to look into this vehicle after I obtain a service manual. An advance Thank You for you "wrenchers" out there that offer help with their tips and know how!
Cheers!

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Winter Park, Fl: Pleased to announce my first Mercedes! I came across the last model year W124 with 196,000 miles in very good condition for the mileage. I've been dying for the comfort and power of an old Benz. Lots of recent maintenance including valve cover gaskets and timing chain guides (its got a complete straight pipe exhaust and I'll have to do something about that, a little loud for my daily). I also have a 2002 BMW M5 which will become my garage queen.

We just purchased a 2012 ML350 Bluetec from another private owner - diamond white with tobacco leather interior. He was going to keep it forever, so he had all the options, and purchased the 3 yr extended limited warranty. It only has 23,000 km on it. (14k miles) - immaculate in and out, with no accident history.
We also have a 2003 New Beetle convertible, a 1998 BMW 540i/6 and a 2002 Honda Odyssey. The odyssey will go in the new year, and I'll probably sell the 540 in the spring.
We wanted something that could tow our boat (5000lb MasterCraft), but still be relatively economical to drive. That really just leaves the ML350, X5, Cayenne and Touareg to choose from. A test drive sold my wife on the ML... and we could not pass up the local sale we found.
I actually had to read the manual for this car... but think I have everything figured out now.
I look forward to participating on the board.
He now lives in Crawfordville, FL with his wife, who he met at JU, and his two children. He works in the Law School at FSU while working on his masters. .
I recently purchased this '95 SL500 from my father-in-law. It was "Mom's Florida car." 21K and in fairly good shape however; it has/had the usual issues. Shot hood pad, (already changed) and shot head liner (I still need to do). Having restored a couple '60's American muscle cars I know the value of a good forum. So I decided to land here. I look forward to contributing as well as learning.
Regards.

Hope its OK to start with questions!!!
I have owned my 1979 450SEL for more than 20 years....luv it.
First question, what is best manual to buy. I did buy the Star Classic Service Manual Library however it seems that it is a manual which has been photocopied and writing is poor

Last question is whether it is necessary to remove the the timber console in order to replace the window switches

Thanking you
I'm gonna need a lot of help with this little project. My new little marshmallow is my first boy car. This guy is a frat house. He's fun, racy, and rich on the outside, but there's a "laundry" list for the interior. He's getting new shoes and contacts first, a physical this week, then Sugar's gonna have to clean up the mosh pit. Looking forward to sharing the ride, and glad to have landed in a place with friendly people and advice

Mbadger here predominantly from E46fanatics and Bimmerforums where I've managed to rack up a healthy diet of BMW. I've finally curbed my habit and with determination, purchased an '09 C300. When I bought my e46 in '06 I was actually looking for a C320 but I was jilted because a shifty salesperson sold the car out from under me. No regrets, happy to have started with this W204 platform, it's exciting, clean and filled with awesome tech. I'm happy to no longer be a curious lurker but a member/owner, participant and apprentice if necessary to harvest the knowledge base here!
