Thanks for the welcome. Three questions:
1. I burn through tires in 12K - 15K miles because they are staggered (245 45R18 100W and 275 40R18 99W) and cannot be rotated. Can I switch to all the same size, preferably 17", to get much greater mileage, and a smoother ride, or will this compromise the integrity of the car? Also could change to updated rims because AMG chrome rims are pitting.
2. Have had on-going problems with the ABC system. I read the forum comments and other things on line that suggest cleaning the system, dismantling the accumulator, or replacing the pump. First I had a local trusted foreign car shop purge the system and change the filter numerous times ($500). Next had another reputable local Mercedes shop diagnose the pump being bad, so I replaced it with a new OEM pump ($3,000), but the right front of car still falls down within 48 hours at rest. They next recommended replacing the accumulator (another $2K - $3K). Mercedes dealer service manager told me to sell the car as it will dollar me to death. It only has 125,000 original miles, looks almost new, and garaged. Very discouraged. Need advice.
3. Have AMG chrome wheels that are becoming pitted. Any place recommended to have re-chromed cheap, or swapped?

I own 3 mercs a W 123 1983 230E , a W 111 fintail 190E fintail and a W 203 c 200 k estate.
I am having a little problem with the W203 where I found a bit of oil on the spark plug and not sure if is from over filling the oil or. is the a major issue?
also trying to trace linkage for the W 111 fintail gear box.

Hi!! I am a New Member. I have a 1999 c230 Kompressor - planned on driving for ten more years. The Kompressor went out, once at 60,000 and now at 150,00. Mint Condition.. do not know what to do with it. Part is Expensive. 2.500 -3,000. In the meantime I bought a 2013 C250w - Very nice. . I do miss my 1999.
New member from Australia and first time MB owner! Just picked up a 2008 ML63. Black of course. Not the type to keep my vehicles stock, so the mods have already began. Woop! Currently trying to install an Alpine X800D-ML. It's not the plug and play solution that Alpine claim though. Very disappointed. I'll take my issues to the correct forum section.
