03 clk500 ac blower does not change speed

03 clk500 ac blower does not change speed
Hi All,
first post here but have been using the forums for many years. I recently had an issue with my ac system. while driving one day the blower suddenly just shut off. I checked the fuse box in the drivers side and saw the 40amp blower motor fuse was melted. I took it to some guy and he said it was the blower motor and the resistor regulator and wanted $1300 to fix it. Well to make a long story short I replced them myself with OEM parts for a fraction of the cost.
Now when put the fuse back in the fuse holder the motor turns on full blast no matter the setting on the control head??? Is there a realy that could have welded shut to cause this or is it now the control head?
Any information would be greatly appreciated as I do not have a schematic of the system.
