Good choice, we have '93 300TE which we 've had for 11 years, will never sell it, build quality, comfort, usability, etc. is first rate - once you understand MB logic with the 124 they are easy to work on too.

the w124 230E is one of the most reliable cars ever made. I have driven several w124 and I was never disappointed with any thing. I have had the coupe the sedan and between 2004 to 2011 a 1990 200T Waggon . It was the last Mercedes with a carburetor. In 7 years by about 125k I needed a knew water pump. That was it. The 230E is even better. The engines last for ever with up to 350.000 mls. Than they are sold to Africa for there second life. In Germany T Modell of w124 is culture. For good cars the people are willing to pay $15.000. Diesels even more. I kept one for my son when he starts driving in 6 years!
