New owner question

I've read a lot about the illuminated star and that a lot of the older owners find it arrogant or tacky.

I am a younger, new owner of a 2008 C300 sport sedan and I find it pretty cool.

I'm still new to the style and history of mercedes. I like tradition and want to stick with what MB is really all about, but at the same time it's shiny and I want one.

So I guess my question is..

Is it possible to install the illuminated star on an older model?

And should I?

GOOD FOR YOU and CONGRATS! Everyone has different taste. I like nostalgic and traditional - but if the illuminated badging floats your boat then you SHOULD go for it. Personal taste and pride is in the eye of the beholder. Go for it!

Hey I'm a new owner of an E350 and already have the illuminated star as a factory upgrade, however I was informed that the Eclass is only able to have the light on during parking and unlocking doors. Is this true? I would like to have the star illuminated while driving all the time. Any idea on how to do so?
