Currently I have an '83 300sd, decent mechanical condition but the paint needs redoing and a woman across the street backed into the side of it with a Chevy Tahoe. The insurance co.'s shop doesn't want to fix it, so the insurance is willing to give me the cash that was estimated and let me keep the car. Am likely to give the car to a friend as a first car for her son and use the cash to get something a little newer.

Diesels in decent shape are hard to come by around here, and my wife doesn't like driving a car as big as an S class, so looking at a gasoline powered E class, probably between 1990-95.
