Just bought me a 2007 E350 4Matic
My last car was a 2007 Honda Accord which i lost in an accident. And been driving an 04 Canyon since then. I must say the difference between those vehicles and this is night and day. It just feels so solid, very planted on the road. It has a presence about it. It's only a base model, but it still sounds great, has plenty of pep, looks great, incredibly comfortable... well i'm just preaching to the choir here but you get the picture.
If it ends up lasting me a while and proves to be reliable, i have a feeling it's going to be the first of many Benz i own. I figure for 12k i could buy this, or get a civic and have a quarter of the car i got with this.
Only got her on Friday, haven't even had a chance to give it a good wash yet. Sadly it's already been snowing where i live, so even when i wash, it won't last long. Plan on doing something with it tomorrow though.
Is there anything i should know about these cars maintenance wise? Any little problems i should look out for? I know 07 had a lot of changes which improved on the car greatly.
The Transfer case issue has not been repaired yet. MB dealer is telling me the problem is more of an "annoyance" than anything & that he has never known anyone's car to have broken down because of this issue. My car vibrates when turning at low speeds & jumps in the lower gears. It feels like a standard car with a driver that doesn't know how to shift properly. When I was waiting at the dealership, I heard call after call about bad transfer cases that needed to be repaired. Seems like there needs to be another suit regarding the many bad transfer cases.
If I could do it all over again, I would have purchased the extended warranty when it was offered. Good luck with your car--hope you don't have the same issues down the road!

I had all of those problems. Every one you listed.
The car was in the shop for almost 6 months doing repairs by some shady mechanic. Didn't cost me anything because it was under warranty, but the car will never be the same again.
I'm currently having the exact problem you mentioned, and I never thought of the transfer case until recently. Or at least, I didn't think it'd be related to the shifting problem.
My car makes almost a grinding noise when going around turns. I can't hear it unless the window is open. Makes sense that it'd be a transfer case issue. The car is out of warranty now, so depending on the complexity these may be repairs I do myself.
This is the other thread I made about all my problems.
