Just checking in to say hi before I become that at random guy asking tons of questions. I've had my SLK 230 for a few months now and nearing the point of doing som hp and handling upgrades as I phase into it replacing my twin turbo Acura Legend.

Thank you, my plans are potentially lofty but it will depend on what direction I want to go. I havent started to look at engine management possibilities yet but I have been looking at some c230's that are turbo'dand thinking of going in that direction. This car is much like my Legend I am finding, which is a potential nightmare to boost due to the lack of aftermarket support. But thats a road I don't mind going down because the result is something no one expects and everyone admires, similar to the cool factor of dropping the top on it now 
. If I do venture down this road I will likely source out many parts from my Legend and sell off the rest to pay for the build. but who knows the Legend is one I had worked on for years and I have a hard time letting it go

Its been a while but I finally decided what I am going to do with my car. I have decided to and already started to take the Legend down to stock and use the money for my SLK55 AMG build. I have fallen in love with the idea of the poor mans Super car so I have decided to do the following.
Engine will be an E55 AMG (later to be supercharged) (will ship Monday)
Trans will be a 6 speed from the 2003 3.2 Crossfire. (in transit)
Brake upgrade will be SL500 Brembo brakes (in transit)
330mm slotted rotors (I need suggestions on a brand and seller likely Brembo)
I am yet to decide on coilovers but if I can save and wait I will go D2's had em and loved em.
Yes this is quite the lofty build but very similar builds have been done by a select few and I am starting to reach out to people with this specialized expertise so if you are reading it and you are that person say hello and if you know someone who could be this person do some name dropping 
such as Lantana and Rudy. I have also spent a lot of time reading and joining the Crossfire forum since there is a lot of swap knowledge there. Wish me luck I have read about the difficulty of similar builds in the Crossfires platform and hear the SLK pre 2002 is going to be a bit more difficult but thats a step better than what they said about a twin turbo Acura Legend and i pulled that off
