Hi Guys
I'd like to introduce myself....
As i am sure you guessed, my name is Tony.
Unfortunately I dont own a MB but am a fan of the GLK and C class station wagons.
I do have 3 toys, all of which are aircooled VWs from 1969 to 1973. Yes, i can hear you cringing.
My reason for visiting your forum???
A short while ago I spotted a colour on an E class but I cannot seem to find the code for it.
I am busy restoring a car and had it painted in Designo Braun. When I got the car home, the colour was more purple than anything else, needless to say I was disappointed. The bodywork was done 1200 miles from where i live, so unfortunately I didnt spot this earlier. And besides, the rest of the car was done poorly, so I am pulling it all apart and doing it again, myself.
Anyway, coming back to the colour.
Can you guys help me find what I am looking for.
The colour codes i found showed it to be Designo Braun, but unfortunately this has a LOT of purple in it when in the sun.
I am looking for a very dark metallic brown which I spotted on a MB. In an underground car park you would have a hard time telling that it isnt a black, but in the sunlight it is a dark brown and from certain reflections it is actually pretty light brown.
It is definitely a metallic.
Could it be Designo Braun that was applied with the wrong base?

unfortunately, that one is not dark enough
I work out of the country for 3 months at a time, and the car arrived a few hours before I left last time.
Here is a picture that shows the purple
Its is dark enough, but its purple, not brown
Yes its a beetle... I am $13K in and barely haly way on this rebuild.... just to put it into perspective.
