CLK55 AMG 2004 W209

Good day all, Goeiemore vir almal wat Afrikaans praat and asalaam mualaikum

First off, I aint new to Mercs nor cars in general. Have qualified with Cummins as a Diesel Fitter and have been playing around with cars since my High School years till date. Have basically done mostly everything you can think of on a Toyota from services both major and minor to clutch overalls and engine overhauls to suspension work (shocks, steering racks, control arm bushes, ball joints, mountings for various parts etc)

As earlier mentioned not new to Mercedez as my grandmother has worked for them since I was 8 years till early 20th century. Sadly a work injury put her on early retirement and pension after roughly 10 years of more work experience. This was back then when Honda, Mitsubishi and Merc were still together till after when they went under their own separate brands.

Anyway so I have been reading everything possible with this car as I have been an avid fan of the AMG range and was on the hunt for a C55 since early last year but it was only recently that I was now serious about getting one after my wedding.

So I found this CLK55 AMG, body looked good to me and so did the overall condition of the engine
(from the outside). Test drove the car and didn't notice any issues at all. Everything worked fine from the speed shift to the normal cruise and sports auto modes. No gearbox noises or prop shaft noises nor any hummings or whinnings or any other brake squeals nothing I could hear from experience of cars. The diff even sounded okay to me when I slammed the accelerator pedal from dead stop whilst taking a 90 degree turn. The rear threw out as expected on any good RWD sports car and like I said no funny noises thereafter from the diff to the drive shafts or the prop to box and motor.

Well the mileage is a bit fairly high at 234 XXXkm and is now due for service B.

The car has some stories I am seeing and experiencing but with the help of you guys I should get through it with some or well a lot of cash spent hopefully not too much especially not through the Stealership as they are well known for around here.

Thanks for reading and I sure hope to learn a lot more from the pros and experienced members and committee of this forum.
