Hey,
Thanks for looking! So I've got a CLS 55 AMG. The old 1980's engine with a heat pump supercharger on top giving molten intake temperatures!
So I got busy pretty quickly. I bought the car at 11am and had it in for a remap and smaller pulley by 2pm at MSL Performance (Big Merc tuners here in the UK). I also bought some lowering links and had those out on also.
Next, the exhaust!!! For the exhaust gasses to get out they had to solve a puzzle before seeing daylight so I got on the phone to Eurocharged UK and bought some manifolds (headers I think is the incorrect term you guys use
So I had the manifolds blasted with 120 aluminium oxide and coated them myself with satin black from Techline coatings (US company). So then I fitted the manifolds, bought some 70mm mandrel bends, 70mm pipe, x-pipe and had it all connected up.
The result is amazing, I took the resonator out too. You really don't need it. There's no drone whatsoever.
I've put pics up in the gallery, here's a YouTube vid of progress.
I've joined this site because from here tuning wise I'm in the dark and really look forward to learning more from the US tuning side. In the UK the vast majority of enthusiasts fit an exhaust with a remap and think they're a street racer with a 10 second car! Ha
I'm here to learn. Some great YouTubers with the AMG M113K Aydinvideo has helped loads with tutorials.
Feel free to say hi or comment on my channel. I plan to start drifting the AMG and generally enjoying driving the car and seeing what's possible with the platform. On my channel you'll see I built a 600bhp GTO Twin Turbo (VR4/Stealth) back when I was in my early 20's but I'm 31 now so need some comfort! Ha
Thanks for reading,
Tom
