Hello,
Last year I was looking for a new project to sink my teeth in and I was looking at a Mercedes convertible with some work. I ran into a 91 500SL with an AMG engine matching numbers but no history and some issues due to overdue maintenance. Most notably: sluggish gearbox, cracks in rear window, leaking power steering. Clearly, I fell in love and bought the car August 2014. Since then I am searching the internet and working on the car to improve the mechanics and the exterior.
It turns out that the car was exported to Japan and there the engine was tuned to 6.0l by AMG. After a few years the car was re-imported to the Netherlands and had 2 more owners.
