2007 e63
new to benz but already weird
Hello guys. Well here is am new member. I just got my first benz and it's 2007 e63. Very fun and fast car. Well of course after 2 months rims get boring so bought new ones. And it's a strange thing. Around the hub it has some kind of ring that goes into the rim I do think know for what reason. Bmw never had that. So when I went to my friend with cnc machine to cut out that ring he also told me that after so many mercedes wheels he never seen something like this. And you know whats funny. We thought maybe it's because it's amg. So 1 hour later guy comes to fix his amg rims and it does have such thing. Maybe you guys can let me know what it is but I still cut out that ring. Don't know how safe it is but anyways I'll either sell or put those rims on shelf. It's a verde v99 20x10.5 and 9. I feel like it's too big. I uploaded some pics on photobucket of you guys can take 1 min to look into really want to find out.

Welcome to MBWorld! Picking up an AMG is always a good choice when getting an intro into the brand. Looks like it's just a simple hub ring. Nothing to worry about. Sounds like the ring just seized on the hub though when you removed the wheel. That's why I always put anti-seize grease on mine before I mounted to keep that from happening. There are plastic rings also that work.
