New Memeber Checking In
Hi Everyone,
I'm new to this site but not to these great cars. After owning various american muscle cars, british sports cars, etc., I got introduced to German cars via a couple of BMW's and a Porsche. I bought my first MB in 1978, a 1957 190SL and still have it. Been driving and wrenching on them ever since. Currently have a 99 E300TD as my daily driver, and an 05 CLK500 Cab as a weekend car.
I have to thank the entire MB World community for saving my bacon many times over the years. The depth of knowledge and willingness to share your insights saved me countless dollars and unnecessary screw-ups. I still find the electronics intimidating but am willing to take on most anything.....working the last 10 yrs on the 606 diesel with 240k miles has been a humbling experience and a lesson in patience. I often smell of diesel.....I call it MB Cologne.
Thanks again for being there........
Paul

OK....dug up a few photos. They're posted in my album. I'll try to drop in a few here.
Bought the 190SL in 78', finished the resto in 1980 ish. I was about 24 in that photo. A few in-progress photos and present day. Paint's still OK after 35 yrs but chrome needs re-done hence the bumpers are off. Want to do a disk brake conversion. Car still runs excellent....won't stop.
The 99 TD I've pampered. 240k miles, S series wheels. Still love the body style.
The photo of the 69 Z28, BMW 2002 and Porsche 911 was taken around 1980. Owned these cars from my late teens thru early 20's and sold them to raise cash for the SL resto. Wish I still had 2 of them but needed to move on.

Very nice! That 2002 is awesome and same with the p car! We also have a 190SL that we are doing some work on. Too cool! If you have any questions about it let us know. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks.....I get your emails and loved the dialog about the Ponton. I know it has the newer 190 spindle conversion to front disks. Some would disagree about the change but mine's a driver and after 37 yrs of fighting with the drums and the wheel cylinders I'm over it.
Just don't have enough time to work on all my projects....but soon.
