Hello new vintage owner from Orlando Fl
I have always had a love for old cars, and my desire to own a classic Benz probably dates back to my childhood with the 300sl
But more recently probably around 5 years ago.
They don't show up to often, and I have always been distracted with my motorsport hobbies, to spend money on a car that I wasn't going to drive hard.
I recently got it stuck in my head that I needed a diesel in my life.
Beeing that I don't believe in owning a front wheel drive car, nor a new car, the answer was quite simple...especially after seeing a nice late 80's 300td on the road, about 4 months ago. So I casually searched every couple of weeks, not finding anything that I could afford.
And then...one day, when I wasn't even looking, I found a w115 on a mobile app called offerup. For $2500
I had to have it. Went about posting other projects of mine for sale to raise funds, and 3 weeks later he Co tact ed me saying he would cut me a deal. 1500 and the car was mine!
So I went and drove it home. It needed a new driveshaft, but I drove it anyway. Once home I started taking it apart, to look into the rust, and ofcorse, there was more than I had seen before the purchase. I am still not running away though.
A running car for 1500, is fair by most standards. And, with all of this class. The actual value of the car isn't particularly important to me.
I will post pictures here of the car, when I get the new driveshaft, and pull er out of the garage.
I haven't named the car yet, but hopefully I will.
Plans are to replace the shaft, fix the a/c, fix the rust issues/rolling semi restoration, and probably put air suspension on the car.
