First time MB owner (with resolved wind noise issue)
Hi,
I just replaced my Volvo XC90 and the wife's Audi A6 with a 2015 E350 and a 2015 C220 respectively. Never had MB before, but heard good stories about them. Took the cars for a test drive and fell in love immediately. We both do a lot of highway commuting, so they are a great match for us.
After the test drives and immediately following the payment of the E350 I noticed occasional wind noise appearing to origin from the windscreen. Dealer has been great in initial attempts to find the cause, but has failed. It occurred only when driving behind someone else, or when wind was coming from the side (so it appeared). With nobody in front of me, no wind noise at all (which explains why I didn't hear it initially).
Searching the net, I found the thread on Wind Noise in here and the link to the bulletin. I found that the gap was probably half a millimeter wider at the top sides of the chrome grill so I glued it. The noise has totally disappeared.
Although I'm not particular tech savvy and no previous MB, I have no experience to share. But I will try to contribute in any way that I can.
Thanks to you all for making my first MB experience so much better.
Jesper
