2008 E350 4Matic
Heya gang!
Greetings fellow MB owners!
I am a new MB owner as of a month or so ago. Just purchased a used 2008 E350 4Matic from a friend but it needs some work. Before we get into that, a little about myself.
I am a Colorado native currently living in Indiana. Was a mechanic (mostly US and JP vehicles) before I went to school for my BSEE (Bachelors in Electrical Engineering). Ever since I have been more of a computer guy.
Own two Honda Accords ('80 and '07), a '78 IH Scout II and now an '08 E350.
I am very experienced working on vehicles but so far I am blown away at how different this MB is. At every turn it feels like the designing engineers went out of their way to make it difficult to service. Special tools, no transmission dipstick, torx, 12 point, etc are rampant. With all of this being said, I am up for the challenge but it's clear to me I cannot go it alone. Hence, the forum.
I am excited to get and hopefully someday give help to fellow owners, learn, grow and keep our vehicles on the road.

Welcome to MBWorld and grats on the new to you w211! It's true that for most Euros in general, they're not as DIY friendly, especially getting into the internals in comparison to domestic and JDM. Doesn't mean it's impossible, just a bit more challenging. Good thing is you're in the right place as the w211 has been turned every which way already by like minded DIYers so you have good resources and documentation here. 
Let us know if you ever want to tackle the lighting on her. We have plug and play canbus HID and LED lighting which will give her a modern facelift.
