I recently bought a 1990 190e 2.6 (manual trans) for my first project car. Its only got 120k miles so I'm trying to restore it more than anything.
Lots and lots of electrical problems and there is some play in the front end which I've diagnosed to either the wheel bearings are out or the tie rod ends so thanks to pelicanparts.com I've found cheap OEM replacements for both and guides on how to replace them. I doubt the electrical will be so easy.
My plans for now are simple:
-get everything in working order (all windows, blinkers, gas gauge, trip meter, various dash lights)
-lower it just a bit (although I'm super nervous about this, as my car currently rides better than my mom's 2011 Lincoln MKZ on the stock shocks and springs, its just the stock ride height is a bit goofy looking)
-fix the rust spot right below my passenger tail light/replace rear right quarter panel
-EFI
-intake/exhaust
-wheels
-paint
Welcome to MBWorld and grats on your new project car. There was another new member who also just picked up a w201 that had lowered springs and he was looking to restore back to stock height. I linked him this thread so maybe if interested, you two could work out a spring swap since he wants to go higher and you want to go lower
