2008 W211 E350 Exhaust Upgrade Help Plz!!!
My name is Mark & I have recently just bought a new used 2008 MB W211 E350 Sedan... I want to upgrade my exhaust system and I am reading a lot of content on here but I need to know which ways to go & where to buy the stuff I need please???
I drive my car daily a lot, so I don't want it to be too loud, but I do want some sound!!! Stock is too quiet... So far I am thinking to just remove the stock exhaust system from the mid-pipe back, can someone please tell me where to buy everything I will need for the best price possible and what you think will be the best set up to use, for a more throatier sound & some better performance too please??? What do I need & where to buy it??? Thx!!!
Also, if I remove the stock system and install mid-pipe or x-pipe, what do I put together from there back??? Just mufflers to tips, or like a cat back system & avoid removing the stock stuff...??? I see a lot of mixed posts... If someone who has my model could tell me how to do this or what to go to an exhaust shop and ask for, it would be awesome of you!!!
Thanks very much!!!!!!!!!
I.E. - do this:
#1 - xxxxxx
#2 - xxxxxx
#3 - xxxxxx
And so on........
Also last thing, tell me the pros & cons of doing this & if it will be legal to pass NV Smog testing every 3yrs, etc... Thx again!!!!!!!

The cheap and simple upgrade is to do a resonator delete and replace with either straight or an X-pipe. Often that gives just enough sound without being too loud or raspy. If you still want more, then you can look towards upgrading your exhaust, but can get pricey depending on brand. Cheaper units will be in the $800 range, but can go all the way up to $3K. Many also go with long tubes, but you might have emissions issue with that path.
Thank you for the fast reply and welcome...!!! Very cool.... Thx!!!
So that's the best way to go and I do appreciate it... But is there a place to buy the x-pipe for my car or just go to any exhaust shop and have them cut out or remove the stock resonator???
Also by doing this will it cause any emissions issues, if you know???
Any further elaboration on where to buy the x-pipe from that's prefabbed for my 2008 E350 would be awesome........ If not, I will find a custom exhaust shop to make it... Any idea on tube size specs or just to match the OEM sizing and brackets...???
Thx again!!!
