New CLK200K (209) owner from UK saying Hi!

Hi. Picked up my, new to me, CLK200K a few days ago. Really enjoying it so far. Shes a 2002 model 209 coupe registered Jan 2003 and just about run in with 140,000miles on the clock! Finished in Jasper Blue (code 345) with pale grey leather interior. Rolling on 18 inch AMG IV wheels in staggered sizes. It may be my first Merc but my wife has had an SLK 230 Komp for about 8 years now so I'm no stranger to the marque....and I'm certainly no stranger to forums....so hope I might be of use around here. I was a Jeep owner before my Grand Cherokee dropped a valve and trashed a piston, locking it in the bore (that was a Merc 2.7 5 cylinder diesel engine!) and have nearly 6000 post over on the JeepForum (as alfaitalia in case any JF members frequent here too!) I'm ex motor trade so hopefully I will be of some help on here. Today I reset the windows (passenger one was not going back up after the small drop when you open the doors) that was an easy reset with info got from here. And also I stripped and rebuilt the indicator (turn signal!!) stalk as it was flopping back to centre rather than clicking into position when turning right. All the threads I read said you need to replace the worn part......but I never give up hope on a part until I've has it to bits to be sure. In this case it was a simple repair...I reversed the black plastic bits that lock the stem in place. The parts are the same for each side (left right) but only get worn on one edge....so swap them over and the new side of the part is used....should be good for another 140,000miles......! And so much better than £100 plus for a new one! Look forward to getting to know you folks. Dean
