9 speed transmission trouble in brand new Mercedes
I have just picked up my new S550 convertible with 57 miles on the odometer last week. This is about the twentieth new car I have bought in my lifetime and until now every one of them was able to take me home without breaking down (and that included a 1974 Ford Pinto). This thing had its transmission to literally explode inside at 79 miles. I now have a new transmission after a week at the dealer, a 1000 dollar gift certificate from the dealer (who of course was innocent in this) and a bad taste in my mouth regarding my future with this car. I just hope it was a freak occurrence.
