New member and new owner of an 04 SL500. Nothing extraordinary about it, pretty much stock, but it's in better shape than most new cars I've seen and low mileage (at this time). It's a cold weather/salt on the roads paperweight right now (I got to drive it home from Schaumberg IL 
and has been in the garage since---this sucks!)
Anyway, even before I became a memebr I was able to gleen information on how to repair the non-opening glove box from this forum and I see some pretty interesting and very nicely done posts about the soft touch close for the trunk and retractable top repairs that may be life savers down the road....I may do the top (rack and pinion) shim repair sooner rather than later---even if I can't drive it, I can play with it, right? (did that sound as bad as I think it did?!?)
Here's to the information suppliers in this forum. Hopefully I can get to the point where I add some useful info instead of just milking you guys for information!
