Hey guys just bought a 05 E55 with 40k on and I am curious to what kind of problems I should expect will arise at this stage of its life any help or leads will be greatly appreciated

Don't wonder - bring your AMG to a competent shop and have them do a thorough inspection (if you haven't done PPI prior to purchase). It is much cheaper to proactively address issues vs. waiting until something breaks.
Congrats and welcome!

Kawehi Ko,
Welcome to the Forum and congrats on the car. To answer your question you really never know. However, about a year ago I bought a 2006 E55 with 41K miles that had allegedly "never been driven hard". To date (and knock on wood) no new issues since I got the car. However, you have exposure everywhere:
General Maintenance (tranny flush is $350-$400)
Supercharger Oil
Brakes
Motor Mounts
Tranny Mounts
Sensors
I/C Pump
Tires
Everything...
There is a "Sticky" section in here for maint items (see the link below).
A good approach is to plan on $2,000 per year in general maintenance over and above new tires to stay ahead of everything.
Good luck,
TK

PS, this doesn't include modifications! PM me if you ever have questions on anything. If things could have gone wrong for me in the modification process they did...

Pics of car bro come on, post em
honestly I was in the same boat with mine 4 weeks ago when i bought it mine has 95k on it, 2005.
Read read read, just come to the forum and read, and you'll get an idea of what can go wrong.
Get the tranny fluid changed, filter changed, get it done right if you're unable to because it's finicky to get the fluid level right and everything and do not skimp out on the fluid quality, ever. Learn to do this yourself if you need to save $$ and do it every 30ish k and this tranny will last you forever.
Other than that I can't think of anything immediate, your car is fairly new.
Enjoy it
Which area are you in, we might be able to suggest a good shop for you. Find a good Mercedes specific shop around you, its a must.
