Saying goodbye to great cars.

Hello. As the name states I'm still a proud owner of 2003 95aero ( last year REAL saabs were made)98 9000 n 99 viggen , but the clock is ticking. Almost 200k on clock 95, 300+ On 9000 only 140 on viggen. Bunch of mods except engine and ecu on 95 it is impressive "WHOOSH" but can get 33+ mpg hwy. If I had to pick one car and lived "no where" definitely the 9000 (built like truck and easy to work on). Ok back to reality. I want the best. I'm looking at 2008 E550 (looks like they borrowed a few curves from the 95 ) has whoosh but horrible mpg ( I do 20k+ Hwy miles per year). Also looking at 2006-08 E350, better mpg but maybe whoosh. I hope many of you see this because I love opinions n experience ( this site looks very smart ) and that's what I need. Now that I'm a little older I want Smooth, WHOOSH n mpg in a Very Reliable package. I'm willing to give up some mpg. Contrary to reputation Real Saabs were very reliable. I can keep going but think my dream has been presented. I'm open to any n all suggestions. Thanks

More whoosh

Thanks for reply. Great idea. I'm still leaning toward "E55 ish" forfeiting 5-10 mpg and gaining 130 +- hp. Next question, it it better to go with 2008 with less miles or 2010 with more. Which would be more reliable.

Uneducated

Please forgive me. I'm not as concerned in style as much as reliability. I think both styles look good, newer having the edge but I log many miles per year. I like to do maintenance and repairs ( within reason ) myself. This may lean toward older less sophisticated systems. As you can tell I've got a lot to learn. Thanks again for reply K

Uneducated

Hello. Thinking again, ( ADD ) where can I learn more about all different names and configurations. Example, 2007-2010 RWD MBs. I have so many questions and at the risk of being annoying it would sure be nice to "study at home". I grew up with small block chevys 200-400 hp 10+- mpg switched to Saab's 4cyl.turbo 200-300 hp 30+ mpg. Kinda looking for a smooth mix. MJ50 had a great idea, 2005 E320, I didn't know there was a E320 but like rwd as not planning to drive in snow etc. looking to spend $10-16k but don't want to spend more time on repairs than mods. Am I making sense?, or just babbling again. I know MB has something for me. K
