New Benz in the family- 07 C230 6 spd.
Been lurking on here for some time so I thought I'd say hi.
After six months of searching, I finally rescued a manual transmission W203 out of wholesale purgatory. It's black, it's got memory pack, sunroof pack, and seat heaters. The engine number is outside the range for the balance shaft madness. It's got a few more miles than I would have liked but I picked it up for a song so, overall, I am STOKED. Although, I'm kind of low-key still looking for a unicorn manual 350, of which they made approximately 4.
I'm a little new to modern Benz's (had an 84 300TD once upon a time and my buddy has an 09 E63) so I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions as time goes on. I have quite a bit of professional experience working on Volvos, Audis, & Saabs as well as assorted off-road trucks so don't hesitate to ask me about your non-Benz vehicles.
My current thing that I'm stumped about with the 230 is locating a new shift knob since the trim has come off of mine. The dealer wants $400 for a new one and the aftermarket ones on ebay aren't doing it for me. If someone were to point me in the direction of a clean used one, I would be ever so grateful
