R107 300 SL
New R107 owner
Hi,
Just thought I would pop my head in and say hello, as a newbie. I recently purchased a nice 1986 300 SL. One owner from new and a genuine 49,000 miles.
I am a mechanic by trade and used to work on these from when I was about 18yrs old.
This example is in great condition, apart from a little rust on the nsr arch. I have already purchased genuine front wings, back wings and sills, whilst they are still available. I am hoping to get a couple of summers out of it, then maybe fit the new panels late 2018. We will see.
The soft top had never been up, until about a week ago. Brand spanking new! It has always been dry stored and used on nice days. I have known the original owner for about 15yrs, so know a fair bit of its history.

Color me jelly. She's gorgeous. I always wanted an early model SL vert. Perfect summer car and built like a tank!
