First Time Mercedes Owner - Northern Virginia
Hi everyone and greetings from Northern Virginia. Name is Bob, Retired US Navy Senior Chief (84-04) that still works for the US Navy building our new LCS ships.
Just recently bought my wife a well deserved 2017 C300 4MATIC with the Premium 2 Package, Keyless Go, Burmeister Sound, LED exterior lights, Garmin navigator, heated seats and the panoramic sunroof, etc. She works her butt off every day and my/our 2005 Chrysler 300C is nearing the end of her honorable service and will be given to our daughter to play with. Funny, she went from a 300C to a C300!
Ironically, Chrysler was owned by Mercedes when I bought my Hemi new in 2005. It has an E Series steering column (still has the tri star on the casting), has the Mercedes W5A580 5-speed transmission and shifter and allegedly has the E Series suspension. And my Jeep also has the W5A580 transmission in it!
She's always wanted her dream Mercedes and she didn't bat an eyelash when I bought, built (and am still building) my 2014 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (JEEP - Just Empty Every Pocket), so it's only fair. She deserves it. The Jeep's name is "Recoil"... fitting since I'm a gun guy too.
Funny thing is the Jeep STILL cost more than the Benz and to be honest, I get more looks every day in the Jeep than in the C300! But they're two different vehicles and I absolutely look forward to driving the Benz and LOVE the ride, speed, comfort and NOT hearing those big tires!
Already learned a lot from just reading the posts, thought it was time to jump in and say hello. Here's a pic of our two expensive toys...
Looking forward to learning all I can from the forum and sharing what little I know!

Thanks Chris! Yeah, they wee side by side in the driveway last week and I noticed it myself and had to laugh! Good to finally have a vehicle that's 100% Mercedes Benz! LOL
