1986 420SEL
HOWDY from The Alamo City
New friends,
Longtime MB fanatic, though a relatively newbie here.
Just bought a 1986 one-owner/low-mileage MB 420SEL, with all the records from an estate sale.
(I'm sure to have numerous questions soon for you "veterans" of the forum.)
The SEL hasn't been driven much in the last year, since the PO passed away, = like less than 50 miles in 11 months.
It has LESS than 100,000 actual miles, with the dealer service records to prove it.
(The SEL wasn't a "second car"; instead it was the elderly gentleman's 4th vehicle, "pampered pet" & seldom driven at all, as he mostly drove his Chevy PU.)

SORRY. I don't own a camera nor do I know how to post pictures.
(I'll try to get my adult daughter to make/post photos.)
I went I picked up the 420SEL in San Marcos, TX. - It ran FINE all the way home.

Do you happen to know if any 1986 S-class sedans were produced with the series emblem on the right/passenger's side of the trunk lid??
(The "Ghost marking" looks like the 420SEL emblem was on the RIGHT, though I've never seen one that was "factory-badged" in that way.)
