My W210 (E220 CDI 2001 mod) just ran into a problem experiencing a dead center console. The windows switches is dead, the trunk opener is dead and the mirror adjustment controls are dead, children control is unknown. What is working on the center console is the gear shifter and the ESP switch. Also the backlights in most buttons, like on the airconditioner and so on, is not working. I don't know if that's related. Does anyone have a suggestion what to check first? I've read somebody got a similar problem fixed by taking out their K40 unit and weld the welding points (heating up existing welding and add some new). Still i cannot find the k40 unit on my car. The tutorials i find on the internet is showing that the k40 is sitting under the hood under the air conditioner cover. Under my cover it's simply not the same components as seen on the different tutorials.
