just got my first high end car
been wanting a mercedes for 30 years
finally dream came true
1997 slk 230 kompressor
neighbor was going to scrap it and i rescued it
he was driving it
gauges went nuts
went to start it when he got back in and it wouldnt turn over
he towed it to an idiot garage and they told him they couldnt fix it
no benz dealers here
i have faith and refuse to give up on it
doing research, i heard it could be the security module?
meanwhile, it sits proud in my driveway wearing a mirror shine
well almost a year i have it
saved up money over the winter
towed the car to the nearest dealer($550.00)
bought a new key($600.00)
some fussing and she fired up
while at the dealer, i asked them to fix the cigarette lighter which wasnt working so i can charge my phone, tablet etc
well it took them 2 weeks, they made a mess of my car
they did something to it and couldnt get it to run again
they gave up on it and sent it back to me in pieces
tore the drivers side dash apart
i was so discouraged thinking ill have to scrap the car
next morning, i decided to go take a look at it
10 minutes later, car started, took me 10 minute to do what tristar mercedes in moncton NB canada couldnt do in 2 weeks
reassembled their mess, cleaned the dirt they left inside and washed off the grease and oil their grimey hand left all over my paint
in the end, im finally enjoying the car
the dealer will never see my car again
ill be doing all the work on it myself and enjoying it
