I'm new - just bought Welwynnick's S600 TT
Hello ladies and gents, I've just continued a life time tradition of buying old cars that are
hugely expensive to repair !
Anyhoo, I've just bought forum member Welwynnick's 2003 TT S600!
I've come across to the dark side, after owning BMW's for many many years,
I'm still getting used to the pipe and slippers wagon I now have, but hey, its quite
quick.
I can say that Mercedes build quality is TOTAL PONY compared to BMW for
that era, what were they thinking when they did their "cost cutting" exercise
in the factory back in the early 2000's ! I'm talking about body panels and rust!
Anyway, going to get that all sorted, might even go for a full respray.
I've put some money to one side for the inevitable repairs, but as I only drive
3000 miles a year, I am hoping the gods of Benz will be kind to me and not
wear much out !
Are there any clubs in this neck of the woods, I live near Norwich ?

Welcome to the forum IMBN! I was a long-time BMW owner as well, but I saw the light, too.
If you think 2003 build quality was bad, you should have seen 2000! The pre-facelift cars were far worse, but there's no excuses etc. .
