1999 Clk 320

New to the MB world , what are some obd scanners I can look into to check any codes , the car is running fine but it never hurts to make sure ... also this may be dumb but where is the obd port located on my 1999 clk 320 ? Thanks in advance

1999 SLK 5.5L 6-speed, 1993 300 SE
your OBD port is in front of the red hood latch near your left leg when sitting in the drivers seat. there is a little cover that you flip open.

It's tricky to find a good cheap scanner that isn't just a generic scanner. one of the best known scanners is the Icarsoft MB2, but it claims to not work on W208 cars. mainly because W208 cars extensively use CAN for communication. If you have $500 to spend, go with a chinese knockoff of Star SDS/Xentry. people are having good luck with the SDS with C4 Mux, but it's a little pricey as far as scanners go, and they only work on MB cars!

I personally have SDS with the C3 mux and it works on MOST of the car!

I appreciate your your reply I will look into that now , I paid $700 bucks for a 1999 clk 320 coupe 171k miles
. I want to make sure everything is fine , (new driver I didn’t really inspect much upon purchase only test drive ) careless I know but I wanted the car since I was in high school .

didn't even think of it as careless. I've bought 75% of my cars without even test driving them... because they didn't run!
