Good evening all! Just introducing myself as per custom with this sort of thing. Not a stranger to cars, but this will by my first MB. Picking up a 2010 GL550 in Virginia this upcoming weekend. Coming off my Jag XJR, this will be a breath of fresh air when it comes to working on things. I figure this should be a breeze, as much as I wrenched on that thing (not the car's fault btw! over 217k miles at this point, and many of the issues were cascading ones that just kept compounding themselves when I wasn't able to sort them all out at the same time). BMW 3-series before that, so I'm making a good round of Euro cars. Looking forward to the knowledge here to keep me going this time.
Thanks. I bought the Jag with a tick over 100k on it, had it just over four years now. I daily drive my cars, 30 miles each way, year round. But just because cars are transportation, doesn't mean I can't enjoy them! For the most part the Jag was trouble-free. Replaced the throttle body but never had a drive train problem. All the issues I ever had were suspension related, and mostly thanks to the wonderful roads up here. I know I'm getting into more of the same with the GL, but hey, pay to play, right?
