First issue is vehicle has a steering wheel out of a 14 e class. Very nice steering wheel but no air bag. Does anyone know if airbag can be added and work with this model car or do I need to go back to an 08 steering wheel with an airbag?

Make sure you add an OEM MB air bag. Here in CA, you will not be able to register your vehicle without proof that it's a genuine OEM MB air bag. Not sure if this same rule applies in your state.
